A proposal exploring the potential to build eight luxury penthouses as well as a large scale communal garden above a distinguished turn-of-the-century mansion block in West London.
The scheme sets itself back from the roof line in order to maximize light penetration into the four courtyards while also creating generous terraces for the new accommodation. The intervention proposes a high performance glass and solid panel enclosure with thermal and acoustic properties set within a modular steel structure that allows for flexible internal layouts.
High-quality off-site construction reduces programme as well as noise and disruption that would otherwise be required by traditional construction methods.
