The studio was commissioned to create exhibition and performance spaces for a cultural foundation in the city centre. The proposed building aligns itself with the street pattern at ground level allowing for a new courtyard space between it and the existing factory space beyond.

The translucent and transparent clad public front to the building gives the performance and exhibition space the major street presence it required. Clearly and distinctively illuminated at night, the activities of the building are made visible, forming a public forum for the foundation and a central feature of the new public open courtyard, drawing the whole community into the theatre and its ancillary spaces.
