Borgos Pieper has been commissioned to design a new five star hotel in the centre of Seville. The project will transform an existing 1960´s structure into a luxury urban hotel on the site of the former Hotel de Paris (1880-1930). The former hotel was the social meeting point in the heart of the city.
The scheme offers 89 guest rooms, including eight rooftop suites with generous terraces, a gym, a roof level pool, treatment rooms as well as an exclusive restaurant and bar at ground level. The project comprises 5,800m2 above ground and is scheduled to open in 2020. The design concept aims to re-establish the grandeur of the former hotel with a monolithic limestone clad facade with deep window reveals and cast iron balustrades that also serve as solar shading devices.
A limited palette of materials will create an understated elegance with natural stone floors, bronze and brass trims as well as timber panelling in public and guestroom spaces. The set-back roof level contains the suites and amenity area for guests that are highlighted with a backlit translucent glass skin that will provide a distinguished silhouette on the city´s skyline.
