Etienne Borgos

Etienne studied architecture at Yale University and the Architectural Association in London as well as Graphic Design at the Schule für Gestaltung in Basel, Switzerland. He speaks fluent Spanish, German and Italian and is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

Before coming to London Etienne worked for Richard Meier & Partners in New York and Kraemer Sieverts & Partner in Cologne, Germany. Etienne was a Project Director at Foster + Partners for numerous projects and masterplans throughout Europe. Among them are the Kings Cross Redevelopment, ITN Headquarters and the Swiss Re Tower, London; the Collserola Communications Tower and La Sagrera Station, Barcelona; Metro Phases 1&2 in Bilbao; the Santiago Communications Tower and Parque Mayer, Lisbon. He was resident in Valencia for the construction of the city’s Congress Centre and in Berlin for the redevelopment of the Reichstag.

Etienne formed Borgos Dance in 2001, a practice which realised several award winning projects. From 2007 onwards he establishes Borgos Pieper with Nadine Pieper. In 2011 the practice, together with an interdisciplinary team  including landscape architects (Gustafson Porter) and engineering firms (Nova and Grupotec) won the international competition for the new Central Park in Valencia in which eleven heritage buildings are to be designed for culture and leisure uses for which  Etienne is responsible within the practice.

At present Etienne divides his time between Borgos Pieper studios in London and Barcelona.
